The DNA Process

Individuals partaking in the DNA test will need to have DNA samples collected using buccal swabs by an approved doctor. The swabs are very similar to long brushes with very fine bristles on one end. The bristles are rubbed against the inside of the cheek and during this process the cheek cells are picked up by the fine bristles. Within these cheek cells is where our scientists will extract DNA from and perform your DNA test. The doctors who work in collaboration with DDC have many years skilled expertise in DNA sample collection.

Many families are deciding to take an immigration DNA to be reunited with families to assist with their appeal or to aid their application. Due to the strict chain of custody procedures DDC follow, our results are certified by several prestigious accrediting bodies including the ISO17025. Once all parties DNA samples have been collected, these will be dispatched along with the completed paperwork to the DDC laboratory.

Where’s the DNA collection facility in Yemen?
