The Paternity Testing Process

Since our establishment in 1995, we have developed a network of doctors and medical centres across South Africa who collect DNA samples for immigration and child dispute cases on our behalf. We only work with certified doctors who are recognised and approved in collecting DNA samples.

Collecting painless mouth buccal swabs is a non-invasive procedure and guarantees high accuracy. The procedure is very simple, by inserting the swab inside the individual’s mouth and brushing this against the sides of the cheek – the swab will pick up cheek cells. It is these cheek cells that the scientists will extract DNA from and perform your DNA test.

All DNA samples procedures adhere to our laboratory accreditations such as ISO17025 and for additional peace of mind DDC will analyse each and every DNA sample twice to ensure error free testing. Once your test has been completed, it can be used to aid your appeal or application.
