Aunt / Uncle DNA Test
The Aunt / Uncle DNA Test, also known as Avuncular Testing, measures the probabilities that two alleged relatives submitting specimens for testing are related as Participant 1 being either an aunt or an uncle to Participant 2. This test can be used for legal or personal purposes but must be specified at the time of ordering.
With the Aunt / Uncle DNA Test, samples are collected from the alleged aunt or uncle and from the niece or nephew. These samples can be collected at home or at an official collection centre. The samples are obtained using a cheek swab (provided by DNA Bioscience). After samples are sent to the laboratory, results will be available within 3-6 weeks.
