Genetic Reconstruction DNA Test Results

The results of genetic reconstruction testing will present a likelihood ratio that means either:

  • There is a high likelihood that the child is related to the tested family members.
  • There is a low likelihood that the child is related to the tested family members.

Because the alleged father is not tested, we cannot make any claims about whether he is the biological parent of the child. However, the tested parties may be inclined to interpret the likelihood ratio to mean that the child is or is not the biological child of the untested alleged father.

The turnaround time for genetic reconstruction testing is 3-6 weeks. This means that once our laboratory receives all the DNA samples needed for the test, we will be ready to send the results within this time.

You can opt to receive your results via mail or fax. If you are taking a peace of mind test, you can also choose to receive your results via email.

Please call 0845 408 2084 for more information about DNA Diagnostics Centre’s genetic reconstruction service.
