A siblingship test requires the participation of two alleged siblings. (Because of the complexity of the test, no more than two alleged siblings can be tested at the same time.)
If available, the children’s mother or mothers are strongly encouraged to participate as well. A siblingship study is a complex DNA test, and a mother’s participation can greatly help the process. When a mother contributes a DNA sample, the laboratory can eliminate her contribution to her child’s genetic profile and focus on the father’s contribution.
If the mother or mothers are unavailable for testing, we can still do a siblingship test. However, a motherless siblingship test requires extended testing and analysis, which may make the test more costly and slower to complete. Please call
