DNA Testing for Immigration

DNA Bioscience offers a variety of DNA testing services to assist individuals who need to provide evidence of biological relationships for immigration purposes.

We have a special Immigration Department that is dedicated to working with immigration solicitors and their clients. Through genetic testing, we can provide the proof of biological relationship needed to satisfy the requirements of Entry Clearance Officers (ECOs) at the British High Commission, British embassies, and the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND).

With more than a decade of experience, our Immigration Department is very familiar with different agencies’ and countries’ immigration policies and guidelines.

IND, UK embassies, and many immigration offices worldwide require that DNA tests for immigration purposes be performed by laboratories certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Our laboratory is ISO-certified for laboratory excellence according to the ISO/IEC 17025 standards. It is also accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), an organisation that demands the highest standards in DNA testing. Many clients use DNA Bioscience’s various DNA testing services to prove biological ties to UK citizens who are sponsoring their immigration to the UK. Our paternity tests and other family relationship tests produce results that routinely exceed the immigration DNA testing requirements of different countries.

How the Process Works

Following is a brief overview of the immigration DNA testing process at DNA Bioscience.

1. An immigration solicitor or private client sends an instruction to DNA Bioscience via email, fax, letter, or by using one of the instruction buttons below. The instruction must state the type of relationship to be established; the full names, dates of birth, and contact information of all parties involved in the test; and any pertinent hearing date information. Contact details for the general practitioner (GP) should also be given unless the clients wish to use one of DNA Bioscience’s collection sites.
2. DNA Bioscience coordinates sample collection appointments and dispatches kits to the clients’ GPs or to our own collection sites.
3. Once the samples are sent to our laboratory, we perform the necessary testing.
4. When the testing is complete, we send the solicitor or client the DNA test results and any needed supporting documentation.
