The next step is to confirm all DNA collection arrangements at a DNA sample collection facility closest to those taking a test. Having a DNA sample collected is painless and stress free, cheek cells are collected using a buccal swab from inside of the cheek. The swab has fine bristles that collect the cheek cells whilst brushing up and down. Once this procedure has been completed and the swabs are sealed in a sterile pouch, the identification of the tested parties is validated and the legal paperwork is completed this is then sent to the DDC laboratory for testing.
